About Us
Welcome to Country Junction, where old-school general store traditions meet modern-day family fun!
Our journey started completely by accident back in 1984. Our founder, Jim Everett, was simply running a construction services business when he began selling a few building supplies out of the lobby. But Jim listened closely to his customers. Every time someone asked, “Hey, do you stock this?” Jim made it his mission to get it. Before we knew it, those customer requests transformed a modest lobby into a sprawling, multi-acre destination in Lehighton, Pennsylvania.
Today, we are proud to be known as the World’s Largest General Store.
Step inside our main building, and you’ll find nearly two acres under one roof, featuring everything from everyday household gadgets, canned jellies, and Pennsylvania Dutch bakery treats, to fully stocked Ace Hardware and Ashley Furniture stores. But we are so much more than just a place to shop. Country Junction is a true community hub and tourist destination, boasting an outdoor kids’ paradise with farm animals and carnival rides, a pet store, a boardwalk arcade, and even our own fully automated six-lane bowling alley.
Rising From the Ashes & Looking to the Future
We’ve always believed that a community store should be as resilient as the people it serves. In October 2006, right during our busiest season, a devastating $10 million fire completely destroyed our 80,000-square-foot main building.
But we didn’t miss a beat. Armed with a loyal employee base, an unwavering supply chain, and a massive federal government tent, we were back serving our customers within a week.
That setback only fueled our vision for growth. Over the years, we didn’t just rebuild—we expanded. We completed massive additions to bring you the entertainment, shopping, and event spaces you love today.
Passing the Torch:
As Country Junction has grown, it has remained firmly rooted in family values. To ensure the store’s legacy continues to thrive for decades to come, Jim Everett has officially passed the torch, transferring ownership and daily operations to his daughter, Diane Sander.
Diane has been a vital part of the Country Junction family for years, intimately overseeing the store’s expansive operations and keeping her father’s customer-first philosophy alive. Under her leadership, the store is entering an exciting new chapter while keeping its core guiding principle exactly the same as it was in 1984: listening to you.
Our managers are always out in the aisles, chatting with visitors and taking suggestions to heart.
